Join the CAHSMUN Team!
CAHSMUN is staffed by volunteers on all levels and we seek to create a diverse and accepting environment for everyone involved in the organization of the conference each year. Being part of the CAHSMUN staff allows you to acquire and improve new skills, create long-lasting friendships, and gain more knowledge about our world.
As part of our vision to foster leadership in the community, the CAHSMUN Secretariat and committee staff are high school students in the Metro Vancouver region with prior Model UN experience as a delegate. The Secretariat received support and advice from the Board of Directors throughout the year.
The Board of Directors provides support and advice to the Secretariat throughout the school year, establishes continuity between each conference, and assumes legal and financial responsibilities of CAHSMUN as a non-profit organization. Ideal candidates for the Board of Directors should:
- Be enrolled in a post-secondary institution during the next school year (September-June);
- Have considerable Model UN experience during high school and/or university, such as:
- Conference secretariat;
- Head delegate for a team; or
- Organizer of a the campus Model UN club.
- Résumé; and
- Cover letter highlighting what your contributions to the organization would be.
Secretary-General
The role of the Secretary-General is to coordinate all aspects of the conference organization as conducted by the Secretariat and to liaise on behalf of the Secretariat with the Board of Directors on a regular and ad-hoc basis.Interested students are asked to submit their curriculum vitae and cover letter. In the cover letter, please address your experience in leading a team and experience in organizing a large-scale project involving a team. Please submit your documents to awong@cahsmun.org , with the email subject as "CAHSMUN 2013 Secretary-General," by April 8, 2012, at 11:59 pm Pacific time. We may not consider your application should we receive it after this deadline.
Candidates who pass the initial screening process will be invited to a written test, with interviews and reference checks to follow. These processes will be used to evaluate the following merit criteria:

• Knowledge of the United Nations and other interstate institutions;
• Knowledge of international issues;
• Ability to multi-task;
• Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines;
• Ability to work with and communicate with different stakeholders;
• Ability to research from different sources;
• Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral communication skills;
• Effective interpersonal relationships;
• Good judgment;
• Initiative; and
• Reliability.

Undersecretary-General Positions
The Board of Directors will finalize these positions with the incoming Secretary-General. Positions that we have had in the past include:-
• Deputy Secretary-General;
• USG Finances;
• USG Committees;
• USG Marketing;
• USG Sponsorship; and
• Foundations Coordinator.

The committee staff are in charge of each committee's proceedings and substantive matters. Directors and Assistant Directors should have Model UN experience as a delegate and CAHSMUN will provide training on the rules of procedures and committee operations.

CAHSMUN Ambassadors
CAHSMUN is a student-led conference that thrives on dedication and passion for MUN. The newest addition to this conference, CAHSMUN Ambassadors, is comprised of a group of motivated and enthusiastic students that promote the values and principles of CAHSMUN. Help spread international awareness to your schools by reaching out to friends and the community. As an Ambassador, you will be the main communicator between fellow delegates and the Secretariat. Answer any questions they may have about MUN, and receive updates about the conference from the Secretariat. CAHSMUN Operations Staff
CAHSMUN is a conference that is fueled by volunteers. As a member of the Operations Staff, you will help the committees run smoothly by aiding the dais through a variety of tasks. In addition, you will be involved in organizing the opening ceremony, the social, and the closing ceremony. Working very closely with various committees, the Operation Staff will also be able to experience the atmosphere of several different committees, as well as learn about what happens behind the scenes at a MUN conference.
