Registration

Dear Prospective Delegates and Faculty Advisors,

As the USG of Delegate Affairs, we would like to welcome you to CAHSMUN 2012. This year, the Secretariat has planned and worked to achieve an outstanding quality of the conference like never before. It is our responsibility to answer any questions and make sure all delegates and advisors are comfortable with all the procedures before participating in our conference on March 2 - 4. Until then, we will work our hardest to fulfill the duties of the USG of Delegate Affairs.

Reputation

The Canadian High Schools Model United Nations is one of Western Canada’s largest high school Model United Nations conferences. Year after year, this conference has received a growing reputation for its quality debate, organization and delegate satisfaction. Regardless of whether a student is a seasoned debater or a novice delegate, CAHSMUN offers something for everyone. Please refer to our Foundations section of the website for information on preparing for the conference through the two workshops we offer throughout the year.

Registration

This year, registration procedures have changed. If you are a delegate from a school without a MUN club or a big delegation, you may register as a single delegate. To make the registration process more convenient for faculty advisors and/or head delegates, we are also accepting group/delegation registrations. Registration fees are only accepted through Paypal this year. However, if alternate arrangements need to be made, please do not hesitate to contact our Secretary General. Early registration this year will begin on October 1st and end on October 31st. Regular registration deadline will be open until January 15th, and the late registration deadline will be on February 5th. As a conference known for its reasonable accommodation rates, we are presenting delegates with a $179 registration fee. This is also adjustable, depending on the delegates’ choice of double, triple, or quadruple rooming.

Venue

This year, CAHSMUN is pleased to announce that this year’s conference is going to be held at the newly-renovated Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre. This prime location will allow delegates and teachers to experience high level debate in the Sheraton’s professional environment. The location of the Wall Centre is conveniently located at the heart of downtown Vancouver, an area full of dining options, entertainment, and more. For more information on the venue, please visit the "Venue" section of our website under "Conference Details" or the hotel's website http://www.sheratonvancouver.com/

Head Delegate

This year, head delegates will assist in the logistical aspects of registration including rooming assignments as well as the communication within the school delegation. If you are interested in becoming a head delegate for your given institution, please do not hesitate to contact us at delegateaffairs@cahsmun.org

Hope to see all of you at the conference!

Financial Aid

In collaboration with the United Nations Association of Canada, CAHSMUN is thrilled to be able to provide financial packages that wave delegate fees to those delegates that due to extenuating financial circumstances are unable to afford the respective amount. Eligibility will be based entirely on financial need, and specific circumstances described within the form provided. This initiative seeks to empower a greater range of delegates from their socio-economic backgrounds to fully engage in CAHSMUN without the strain of financial inaccessibility.

Sincerely,
Kamiliya Akkouche
