United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
The mission of the United Nations Environment Programme is to encourage international cooperation in improving the quality of life without compromising the environment that shall be our legacy to the next generation. The UNEP coordinates United Nations environmental activities and assists developing nations in implementing green policies. The UNEP is led by a Governing Council composed of 58 member states. In such times today, when concerns for environmental sustainability are rising amidst changing global conditions, the UNEP will undoubtedly attract a great deal of controversy and debate.
