United States National Security Council (USNSC)
The United States National Security Council is the President’s principal forum for dealing with matters concerning national security and foreign policy. The Council was first established by President Truman and also serves to coordinate national policies among other government organizations. Regular attendees of the National Security Council include the President, Vice President, Secretaries of State, Treasury, and Defence, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Director of National Intelligence. Other members attend when discussions pertain to their respective portfolios.
